Lime Mint Smoothie – a super refreshing Summer smoothie, that can function as a healthy breakfast or an afternoon drink to cool down. Vegan, clean eating and delicious!
I hate to admit it, but iced tea is one of my weaknesses.
It’s the 1st of June and I’m already running to the supermarket buying the newest flavor. And that’s bad, because store-bought iced teas are FULL of sugar. And well, sugar is not good for you (duh.)
As a matter of fact, sugar is unbelievably bad for you.
So this Summer, I decided to make a healthy recipe for my favorite iced tea flavor combination: lime and mint.
No sugar or preservatives; lots of fiber and vitamins. Win-win.
The tartness of the lime and the refreshing power of the mint is just perfect to quench your thirst in the Summer heat.
And you can make this smoothie completely sugar-free.
If you choose a super ripe banana you can just leave out the 1-2 tsp maple syrup completely.
I recommend blending the ingredients for a longer time than you would normally do. I only blended it for like 20 seconds and there were a few big mint leaf pieces and lime chunks in it! (They don’t blend easily.) It was still delicious though.
Also, if you are really going for that tart taste, you can put some lime zest into the smoothie as well.

Did you make this Lime Mint Smoothie? Let me know in the comments! 🙂
I have a question and I think it may make everyone slap their foreheads. You state whole limes… including skin? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I’m new to making healthy smoothies.
Hey Nikki,
It’s not a silly question at all. 🙂
The skin of the lime should be peeled off, so only use the “flesh”.
I hope you’ll like the smoothie!
