Vegan Spinach Kiwi Smoothie – a tasty and Vitamin C packed drink for breakfast. Super healthy and helps with inflammation.
Kiwis are great. They are pretty, delicious and have more Vitamin C than oranges. And Vitamin C is really important, so I guess that makes kiwis really important too.
They are not the sweetest fruit on the block, so I understand that they can’t be everyone’s favorite, but they deserve more credit.
One of my problem with green smoothies is that when I put veggies in with my berries, the liquid turns into an ugly swamp color. (Talk about problems, right?)
I think food/drinks should be appetizing. And most of my strawberry spinach smoothies are definitely not.
Kiwis save the day, though! Kiwi is a tasty fruit, right? Right. And when I combine them with dark green leafy vegetables the smoothie stays a pretty color? YES! Hurray! Problem solved.
I joke of course, but it is one of my favorite smoothies. Surprisingly, it only takes 1 teaspoon of sweetener to take the bitterness (sourness?) away.
Another reason why I really like high Vitamin C smoothies is because they do wonders for your skin. Seriously, try for yourself.
Drinking a citrus/kiwi green smoothie everyday will help a ton with red, acne-prone skin.
Much better, than any cream or serum ever could. Health comes from within, after all.
For this recipe you will need: 4 kiwis, a handful of fresh baby spinach, 1 cup of ice cold water and that teaspoon of sweetener of your choice (I used agave syrup) and a blender.
Now if you wanna go all out, just pop 1 Medjool date into the blender instead of the agave. 100% healthy and sugar-free.
