This vegan Avocado Pasta with Tofu Bacon is a satisfying and VERY tasty dinner. The tangy avocado sauce, the smoky tofu bacon and sweet corn create a wonderful harmony in this quick and easy dish.
I’m so grateful for liquid smoke for existing, because it means I can make tofu bacon that tastes just like the real thing!
And if I could, I would put tofu bacon on everything. I love it so much.
You guys, this meal is so easy to put together with such a satisfying result.
Every element in this pasta has a different flavor profile, and when they all come together it’s a party in your mouth.
I’m not joking when I say, that this dish comes together in 20 minutes. The key is being organized. 😉
While the pasta is cooking in salted water, I create the avo sauce and tofu bacon.
I use a mini blender that came with my Bosch hand blender (I love it!!!).
I put all the ingredients in it, blend and ta-dah! The sauce is ready!
That was easy!
When I’m done with that, I move on to make the tofu bacon.
Cut half a block of firm tofu into tiny bits (that resemble bacon bits, ya know).
In a small bowl, combine the liquid smoke, soy sauce, oil and salt, mix then add the tofu.
Make sure all of the tofu bits are properly covered then put in a pan and fry on medium heat until the bits turn “bacon colored” (dark brown-ish).
Make sure that the tofu bits don’t burn! You have to stand next to the pan and keep stirring/flipping.
All that’s left is to mix all of your ingredients in a bowl, serve and DEVOUR.

Avocado Pasta with Tofu Bacon
Ingredients
Avocado Pasta Sauce
- 1 avocado
- 2 tsp plain vegan yogurt
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp oil
- 1 big pinch salt and pepper
Tofu Bacon
- 1/2 block firm tofu
- 1 tsp liquid smoke
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 pinch pepper
Pasta
- 0,5 lbs fusilli pasta
- 5 tbsp corn
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in salted water.
- While the pasta is cooking, make the avocado sauce and the tofu bacon.
- Put all ingredients for the avocado pasta sauce into a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Cut the half block tofu into tiny bits. Add the oil, liquid smoke, soy sauce and salt in a small bowl, mix, then add the tofu bits and mix again.
- Put the tofu bits in a pan and fry on medium heat until dark brown.
- Add the cooked pasta, avocado sauce, tofu bacon bits and corn in a bowl, mix and enjoy.
