Me and most of my vegan friends agree that one of the best snacks are organic vegan protein bars and the reasons for that besides the tastiness are plenty.
- Protein content
Most importantly, we like to exercise (yoga, Pilates…etc.) and build muscle. Even if you are less active, you must know, that sometimes it can be a bit tricky to collect all your protein needs from a plant based diet (of course it’s absolutely possible, but to me for example it’s a bit tricky, since I’m a picky eater). Protein bars are a very good solution for this problem. You can eat them even for breakfast, lunch or dinner not just as a snack, because they contain useful macro nutrients besides protein.
- Portability
I go lot a lot of places during the day, so I don’t always have the time or opportunity to prep/cook meals. That’s why I always carry a vegan protein bar with me, even if I didn’t plan to eat it that day. I never know when I will be able to eat a proper meal, so it’s good to know that I have a safety back up, that I don’t have to refrigerate or microwave.
- Extra energy
Usually when I have errands to run, I don’t always have time to eat normally. The problem with that is that I get tired and irritable really quickly without sufficient calories, so eating a protein bar provides a big help that I need to function until a normal meal.
- Calorie goals
Everyone has calorie goals, even if they don’t consciously set them. Health conscious people know, that they have to stay inside a certain calorie spectrum in order to be healthy. But what about days when you can’t reach your calorie goals because you don’t have an appetite or miscalculated your meal plan? No worries, just grab a protein bar for some extra healthy calories.
- Sweet cravings
Put your hands up, if you get sweet cravings more than 2 times a day. Now, put your hands up if you love fruit, cakes or cookies.
